Parasol
Unknown
first quarter 20th century · straw, wood, metal · Costume Institute

This is an example of a whimsical yet practical and stylish parasol. Made completely of straw, this material was more typically used in hats to shade the wearer from the sun. A parasol made of straw in such good condition is fairly rare.
