late 9th–10th century · Ink, opaque watercolor, and gold on parchment · Islamic Art

This double folio was once bound in a multivolume Qur'an manuscript. The calligrapher wrote in bold kufic script with black ink using a broad‑nibbed reed pen. Red and green dots indicate the vowels. Verse markers include a star‑shaped medallion highlighted with green and red dots and framed by two concentric multilobed medallions.
