Ear Ornament (Tikhrazin), One of a Pair — Unknown

These Berber ear ornaments may have been inserted into the ear or attached to a diadem with chains, and positioned so as to hang on each side of the face, near the ear. This style is known as tikhrazin and is popular in the Rif mountain region. Coral is a typical material for Berber jewelry and is thought to possess baraka, or blessing.
