Terracotta Nolan neck-amphora (jar)
Westreenen Painter
ca. 450–440 BCE · Terracotta · Greek and Roman Art

Obverse, woman pouring libation for warrior Reverse, man with staff The subject of the decoration is a warrior's departure. Although this is a rather commonplace vase, it is worth noting the poignancy of the older man, characterized by his stick, who stands isolated on the reverse.
