Obverse, youth putting on armor, surrounded by two men and a woman Reverse, youth with Nike (the personification of victory) and elderly man On one side of this vase, a youth dons the armor of a hoplite (foot soldier) in preparation for military service. On the other side, he returns victorious to be greeted by a winged Nike.
