Obverse, youth with sword pursuing woman Reverse, Dionysos and satyrs The male figure on the obverse has been interpreted as Perseus, the women as possibly daughters of the sea god Nereus. The representation on the reverse is most interesting for the goat that has a satyr-like face. Such creatures indicate that Dionysos was not only the god of wine but that he also had powers over various kinds of human and animal life.
