Sèvres Manufactory|François-Marie Barrat|Jean-Pierre Boulanger
1776 · Soft-paste porcelain · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

This type of simple cylindrical cup with a steep sided saucer was the most common form of cup produced at the Sèvres factory. They were sold individually as well as in sets, and unusually elaborately decorated examples, such as this one, were sometimes sold for display rather than for use.
