Cup and saucer — Doccia Porcelain Manufactory|Marchese Carlo Ginori|Jacques Stella|Claudine Bouzonnet Stella

This and a second cup and saucer (1971.233.1, .2) join a teapot (46.103a, b) and sugar bowl (69.118a, b) with the same decoration acquired in 1969 and 1946. The service presents a free Italian adaptation of elements from the decorative vocabularies of the eighteenth century’s leading manufactories: the yellow-ground floral panels of Meissen and the putto scenes of Sèvres.
