Neuber
1940–49 · wool, silk · Costume Institute

The Eton suit originated as the school uniform worn by the junior schoolboys at the Eton School in England and became emblematic of high social standing in the United States. This suit was purchased in Rome by Gypsy Rose Lee for her pre-adolescent son Eric Preminger, whom she enjoyed dressing in various world costumes when he traveled with her.
