Riding habit
Nardi, Inc.
1929–30 · wool, silk, leather · Costume Institute

Nardi, Inc. was a very prestigious New York tailor. Even though this is a child's riding habit, it is made with very exacting high standards of construction and materials. An important aspect of the aesthetic of riding is the meticulous appearance and attire of the rider. A perfectly tailored suit would have been 'de rigueur' for a child riding in competition.
