Materials and subtle details combine to bring elegance to this classic design from the Osgood collection. In the post-war period, leather manufacturers developed numerous new color and finish options, including the antiqued finish featured here. The beauty of the leather on this sample for the Kid Leather Guild is allowed to take precedence by the exercise of restraint in the detailing. The curved lacing stay is a stylish touch, which is complemented by the emphatically topstitched curve of the side seam. The shape of the last, with its elegant, elongated lines and shallow pointed toe, is characteristic of Italian styles of the period.
