Elaborate decoration, involved construction, and well defined silhouette make this toque an appealing example of this popular style of the era. The flower pot form was just one of innumerable toque shapes being tried at the time. The unusual and intriguing combination of maline-covered wire crown, straw plait brim and banding, and faceted beads lends a sense of presence to the hat, and provides an eye-catching variety of density, reflectivity, and texture.
