Radha, with peacock feathers in her headdress indicating her devotion to Krishna, stands in a wooded landscape, typically intended to evoke an imminent rendezous with her beloved. The bell shape of her gilded skirt recalls Rajasthani painting of Jaipur in the 18th and 19th centuries. This is also echoed in the sunset and the distinct highlighted leaves of the trees.
