This statue portrays Manjushri with four arms, the ultimate manifestation of transcendent wisdom and a well-worshipped bodhisattva in the Ming court. Inscribed on the lotus throne is a reign mark indicating that the statue is as a product of the imperial workshop and was made as a gift bestowed to Tibetan Buddhist monasteries.
