ca. 1752–55 · Soft-paste porcelain · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

The Chelsea factory often used illustrations drawn from Aesop’s Fables to decorate porcelain in the early 1750s. Much of the best painting of Fable scenes was executed by Jefferyes Hammet O’Neale, to whom the decoration of these pieces is attributed.
