Rai Raja, with a radiant golden aureole, sits on a hexagonal golden dais under an umbrella with raised red curtains withgold tassels above, suggestive of a stage setting. Two female attendants cool her with peacock feather fans. In the foreground, she is flanked to the left by a blue male figure holding a sword and shield and on the right by a female flywhisk (chauri) bearer. The floor and stairs are decorated in the manner of late Victorian glazed tiles.
