Unknown
ca. 1550–1295 B.C. · Glass · Egyptian Art

This glass plaque is incised with hieroglyphs forming a blessing related to the sun god. The name Amun-Re is followed by the sign of life, a ship’s sail (‘breath, wind’), and the sign for ‘lord’. The inscription expresses the blessing ‘Amun-Re, lord of the breath of life’, as is found on several New Kingdom seal-amulets.
