Description: roughly made folk fiddle of inexpensive cmaterials, purfled pine top, one-piece purfled maple back opaque brown varnish, almost straight neck with fingerboard raised by wedge, loose wood nut, commercial tailpiece and bridge, two commercial pegs, two whittled pegs, bridge glued to top; with inexpensive commercial bow in case with 1884 Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Award label.
