Alto or Tenor Cornopean — Melchior Gomar de Vries

The tenor horn evolved in about 1821 as a hybrid of the fluegel horn and the trumpet. The bore of tenors widened over the course of the nineteenth century, but earlier types, like this instrument, continued to be built and were often called bass trumpets.
