This cabinet is essentially an armoire, a type of furniture that was heavily carved and ornamented in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. In keeping with the design aesthetic of the Wiener Werkstätte, which favored geometry over naturalism, Moser conceived the simple cabinet with graphic elements—including raised door panels, blue paint, dark stained glass, and discreet beading—that unify the design and add visual interest.
