This prayer book with gold writing on dark blue paper was copied by Muhammad Hussain Kaziruni in 'revival naskh', the rounded script that became popular in the late 17th century thanks to the scribe Ahmad Nairizi. Active in the late 17th and early 18th century, Muhammad Hussain Kaziruni signed one of his calligraphies with a term indicating that he was working in the capital, Isfahan, presumably in the court library of the last Safavid shah, Shah Sultan Husain.
