Pendants, such as this one, would have been a single component of any number of jewels that were attached to opulent headdresses, pectoral ornaments and the like, worn by Amazigh (Berber) women in Morocco. Vibrantly colored yellow and green enamels are seen at center. The enamelling technique is believed to have come to Morocco from Spanish craftsmen and jewelers.
