The points of this spur's rowel are shaped as birds’ heads, while its body alternates stamped flowers and crosses. In the early 17th century spurs became true fashion accessories often worn outside the equestrian context, and some of them were real pieces of jewelry. Even if this spur is less luxurious than some of its contemporaries, its very decorative aspect aligns it with this idea.
