Miquelet Gun Made for Charles IV of Spain (reigned 1788–1808)
Antonio Guisasola|Juan Navaro
dated 1796 · Steel, gold, silver, wood (walnut) · Arms and Armor

The Spanish inscription on the barrel of this fowling piece translates, "Gift to His Majesty the King, Don Carlos 4, [in] the Year 1796." The gun probably was presented to Charles IV (reigned 1788–1808) by the two gunmakers from Eibar, an important center of arms production in the Basque provinces.
