Terracotta Nolan neck-amphora (jar) — Achilles Painter

Obverse, Eos and Tithonos Reverse, youth The composition on the obverse of the vase masterfully catches the element of pursuit, which is at the heart of the story of Eos, the goddess of dawn, and the schoolboy Tithonos. Eos is so close that she almost touches the youth and their feet overlap, but the artist makes the distance between them eternal. The figure on the reverse has not attracted Eos's interest.
