Silver appliqués
Unknown
5th–4th century BCE · Silver · Greek and Roman Art

The Cesnola Collection contains several other, very similar appliqués that are now much damaged and corroded. All have holes around their edges for sewing them onto a piece of fabric or leather; they were probably used to decorate a headband or more ornate headdress.
