Embroidered whitework coverlet — Catharine Woolsey

This whitework coverlet is made of two panels of ribbed cotton that are seamed at the center. It is embroidered with heavy white cotton thread in stem, back, and running stitches, French knots, and tufting. The central ground is embroidered with equally spaced flowers and floral sprigs, and there is a swag-and-tassel border. The piece is fringed on three sides.
