Embroidered whitework coverlet — Mercy Emerson Tomlinson

This whitework coverlet is made of three lengths of white cotton fabric that have been stitched together. Some of the decorated areas are tufted, and others are embroidered with heavy white cotton thread in satin stitch. The pattern consists of an overall floral vine. The piece is fringed on all four sides.
