Chelsea Porcelain Manufactory
1745–50 · Soft-paste porcelain · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

The figure represents the Chinese god of Happiness, Pu T'ai Ho Shang, known from imported Chinese white Fukien porcelain models. The hat forms a cover for the hollow figure, probably a tea caddy.
