It was common for each model of vase to be produced in variety of sizes; the vase à oreilles was made in six sizes, of which this pair (see also 58.75.114) represents the largest. Factory records suggest that the pair may have cost 1720 livres, a sum equivalent to the annual salary of a lower-level professional worker.
