Iron birds with fittings similar to this one, but not necessarily of the same period or style, are used extensively in northern Spain, both indoors and outside as brackets for lanterns. Typical examples are the street light brackets in Solsona (Lérida) and the light brackets attached to the crest of a reja in the Capilla del Sagrario at the Cathedral of Segovia.
