This mask formed a portion of a monument at Leghorn of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand I de' Medici, with a marble statue representing the duke by Giovanni Bandini, the four Moorish slaves and bronze fittings by Pietro Tacca. Monument erected about 1609 by Cosimo II.
