Marsilio Ficino (1433–1499)
Niccolò Fiorentino (Niccolò di Forzore Spinelli)
15th century · Lead · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

Born into a family of Florentine goldsmiths, Niccolò ranks among the leading portrait medalists of the Italian Renaissance. Working in high relief, he created effigies that are bolder in scale, more varied, and more bluntly realistic than anything produced earlier.
