Siphon glass
Unknown
17th century · Glass · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

In the bottom of the glass are the remains of a "surprise" siphon apparatus. This interior element caused an unexpected stream of liquid to escape through a hole in just one of the rings that adorn the hollow sphere set between the bowl and the foot.
