Ribbed and fluted vase with lion masks
Unknown
19th century · Glass · European Sculpture and Decorative Arts

The form is based on the common and very ancient Near Eastern carinated shape. However, this example has a higher, more constricted neck and a more rounded body, to which are applied lion masks and rings, symbols of Venice.
