Worn by the well-dressed young girl, Beaufort S. Bodman, of which the Brooklyn Museum Collection has several pieces, this is an excellent example of a high quality child's snowsuit. A very sporty style, it was made in England and then likely sold at a high end Madison Avenue retailer. Eventually, the snowsuit would transition into a one-piece style, this being the precursor of this necessary winter garb.
