Fox hunting, also known as "running the hounds," is a sport often associated with aristocratic people. Including the traditional red riding coat sometimes known as "colors" or "Pinks," vest, jodhpurs, gloves, top hat and black boots with brown tops or "tan tops," this complete ensemble was made by a pre-eminent London sporting tailor in the early 1920s and is of the highest quality. Red is the ubiquitous color worn by masters and various other leaders of the hunt, while other participants wear black or navy jackets with a colored collar. The donor, Frederic H. Curtiss, hunted as Master with the Norfolk Hunt of Medfield under Henry G. Vaughn Esq. for fifteen years.
