Seen here is a charming lingerie set. What is particularly interesting is the embroidery imagery, which seems highly unlikely for young girl's underwear. While the elephant is appropriate for children's clothing, the men marching through the desert carrying what appear to be weapons seem an unusual choice. The scenes of Egypt were very prominent in the 1920s, inspired by the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb in 1922, which may have been the inspiration here. The silk is of the finest quality and the construction is refined, showing they were a luxury item made for a pampered child.
