Brassiere — Charles James

The Brooklyn Museum holds the largest collection of Charles James garments and supporting material in the world. Including paper and muslin patterns, half and full sewn muslins and sketches that specifically correlate to the garments, the material explicates James' multilayered design process from its inception to completion. This particular garment was made to order for burlesque entertainer Gypsy Rose Lee.
