Many of Yves Saint Laurent's designs are notable for as feminine versions of menswear styles, often with a sexy twist, such as the safari jackets he paired with short skirts, or shirt dresses. This idea carries over into Saint Laurent's accessories as well. In this clever design, meant to be worn slung low around the hips, five small belts have been buckled together to create a normal-sized belt and any one of the buckles can be used to fasten it. In addition to being infinitely adjustable, the belt is eye-catching from all angles. The prominent buckles and use of suede leather makes the belt more rugged and casual than a typical example of woman's belt from the period.
