Although this has clearly been remade from an original garment, it retains its opulent presence. The workmanship required to create the fabric, completely worked in machine-made tambour stitching is remarkable. The subtlety of the shades in the tambour, contrasting dramatically with the gilt appliqués adds great visual interest.
