Neckpiece
Unknown
ca. 1870 · linen · Costume Institute

This neckpiece, in its original form, was made to be worn under a jacket. Brussels point de gaze lace was much favored in the Victorian period. This is a good example of the typical motifs and variety of fillings used in its design.
