Hat — Elsa Schiaparelli

Millicent Rogers, the original owner of this hat, lived in St. Anton in the Arlberg Valley of the Austrian Tyrolean Alps during the 1930s. Like 2009.300.1163, this hat was probably a collaboration between Rogers and one of her favorite designers, Schiaparelli. Rogers harbored an interest in folkloric costumes and also liked to dress according to her locale. This hat, similar in form to a Tyrolean hat, would have allowed her to fashionably express her interests.
