Hat — Unknown

With its broad rim and very shallow crown, this straw hat imitates the eighteenth-century sun hats known as "bergères" for their bucolic associations with pastoral shepherdesses. However, the rudimentary woolen needlework and pristine (if faded) condition reveal this to be a much later homage.
