Evening pumps

As the stiletto pump developed over the second half of the 1950s and first few years of the 1960s, sharp, elongated, angular lines became increasingly important. The slender, linear effect in this pair of pumps is complimented by the recede toe (i.e., slanting up in an acute angle from the sole), the low cut of the upper, and the skeletal cut-out ornament. The beadwork adds a lively and luxurious effect to the severe lines, but maintains the linear theme.
