Opera coat
B. Altman & Co.
1924–26 · silk, fur, metal · Costume Institute

The placement and use of multiple colors of lamé plays off the striations of the fur trim on this 1920s opera coat. It was made in France for B. Altman, a prominent American department store founded in 1865.
