Vase
Louis C. Tiffany|Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company
1898–1902 · Enamel on copper · The American Wing

Exhibiting one of the most surprising designs on all of Tiffany’s known enamelwork, this diminutive vase features dazzling bursts of abstract fiery red poppy blossoms on a nearly black ground. Its modest size belies the dramatic impact of the vase, which Tiffany illustrated in a color plate of the sumptuous publication celebrating his oeuvre, The Art Work of Louis C. Tiffany, published in 1914.
