Table — Louis C. Tiffany|Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company|Tiffany Studios

Furniture by Tiffany Studios counts among the most eclectic and unusual pieces produced during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This small bronze and oak table owes its design to prototypes in antiquity: its form resembles that of collapsible Greek and Roman stands. The swelling form of the upper legs is a Tiffany innovation based on Near Eastern sources. The delicately reeded legs then taper to diminutive hoof feet. It is one of two known bronze table forms produced by Tiffany Studios and offered in their price list of 1906.
