Handkerchief points and swallowtail folds are often best rendered in chiffons, jerseys, or crepe-fabrics with elastic qualities originating from the high-twist yarns employed in their weaving. Because of their ability to drape with fluidity, these fabrics have become associated in contemporary dress with classical effects. Holly Harp was a designer of dresses with romantic, often ethereal, effects. In silk and rayon jerseys and chiffon, her designs invariably explored the integral qualities of the fabrics.
