『大雅堂画譜』|Taigadō (Taiga Hall at Sōrinji Temple) Picture Album (Taigadō gafu) 大雅堂画譜 — Ike Taiga 池大雅|Sō Geppō 僧月峯

After the death of Ike no Taiga, his followers built a hall called Taigadō within the Sōrinji monastery, east of Kyoto, to commemorate him and preserve his artistic legacy. This book is based on a manuscript by Taiga that was left behind in the hall. The artist’s characteristic style is reflected in the subtly impressed colors and ink tones—effectively employing gradation—and in the outlines achieved through the use of two carved blocks.
